The Sydney Parks Orienteering Series  (Formally Ultimax Sprints) will return in January. The 5 race series is organised by the NSW Ultimax Stingers and is suitable for experienced orienteers and beginners alike. For more details check out www.nswstingers.com/sydneyparks

TUESDAY January 2nd – Ball’s Head 

Venue: Balls Head Road, Waverton

Time: Starts between 5:30 and 7:00pm (course closure 7:45pm)

Entry Fee: Adult: $8 per event or $30 for the series; Child/concession: $5 per event or $20 for the series; Extra maps (e.g. groups): $2 each

Note: Public Transport – short walk from Waverton train station 

 

MONDAY : January 8th – Hunter’s Hill 

Venue: “Villa Maria” map; St Josephs College, Gladesville Road, Hunter’s Hill

Time: Starts between 5:30 and 7:00pm (course closure 7:45pm)

Entry Fee: Adult: $8 per event or $30 for the series; Child/concession: $5 per event or $20 for the series; Extra maps (e.g. groups): $2 each

Note: Public Transport: Busses from Parramatta, West Ryde, St Leonards, Maquarie and City. Ferries from City and Parramatta.

Venue: King Georges Park, Manning St, Rozelle

Time: Starts between 5:30 and 7:00pm (course closure 7:45pm)

Entry Fee: Adult: $8 per event or $30 for the series; Child/concession: $5 per event or $20 for the series; Extra maps (e.g. groups): $2 each

Note: Public Transport: any bus up Victoria Rd from the city. Event is adjacent to Iron Cove Bridge. 

 

MONDAY January 22nd – Macquarie Uni

Venue:  Culloden Road (north-east end), Macquarie Park

Time: Starts between 5:30 and 7:00pm (course closure 7:45pm)

Entry Fee: Adult: $8 per event or $30 for the series; Child/concession: $5 per event or $20 for the series; Extra maps (e.g. groups): $2 each

Note: Park on Culloden Road, assembly down Gymnasium Road (East). Public Transport: many bus options to Macquarie University. 

 

MONDAY January 29th – UTS Kuringai – FINAL 

Venue: Eton Rd, Lindfield

Time: Starts between 5:30 and 7:00pm (course closure 7:45pm)

NSW Stingers take out City Chase World Championships in USA Wednesday, 25 October 2006 The City Chase Urban Adventure Racing World Championships were held in Chicago, USA on the 13-14th October. Team Australia, with the aid of Brooks running attire, arrived in Chicago two days prior to the race to unexpected snow falls but adapted to win the World Championship race.
